Outreach in West Montgomery

I'll be the first to admit, I wasn't sure about going out to West Montgomery. In the flesh, I was worried about my safety, but I remembered that we are called to go out in ALL the world and that we have a Sovereign God. So I made myself go and boy was I glad I did. It was such a blessing to be around brothers and sisters in Christ who were different from me. We were from a different culture, but shared the same Saviour. It was awesome when we joined together in Prayer and Praise of the Lord Jesus Christ together before going out. It was a REAL Blessing.

Brother Ken Austin Pastor of New Walk of Life Church (on Council Street in Montgomery, AL) put on a neighborhood fellowship for the area. This is a very low income neighborhood. They had food, activities for the kids, praise and worship, clothing donations and much more. At First we helped setup everything, then we broke off into groups in the neighborhood handing out fliers for the event. It gave us an opportunity to do some one-on-one conversations and hand out a few tracts. But, the best part for me was the Christian Fellowship. It truly is amazing how diverse people can come together for a common purpose. To Glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise God you followed Jesus into that neighborhood. We actually live here now..some things have changed some still the same. Its going to take the LORD of course and the church to be the hands and feet of in order for the gospel to have a rippling effect in our hood! We look forward to visiting new life soon :)
